Great post. It’s a important to focus attention on particular topics and even to frame existing ideas in new ways, but every new idea does risk becoming THE IDEA. It would be great if vendors didn’t latch on to powerful business/technical discussions like Information Architecture as a marketing tool. Many vendors just seem to erode the real value of the conversation with misappropriation of terms.

Over the past three years, I’ve personally had to suffer the effects of “analytics” = dashboards and (hopefully less wide spread among other companies) “architecture” = any technical development.
