Combines data residing in different sources and to give users a unified view of these data:

Often the objective is to have an Enterprise level, Single Source Of Truth (SSOT). In this case, the result of data integration is that every data element is stored exactly once and no more so that:

• There are no duplicate values (if there are no duplicates then they can’t get out of sync)
• Each value is logically consistent with the other values stored (values don’t contradict each other).

Customer Data Integration aims to deliver a SSOT for customer data.
