We’re looking for an experienced ColdFusion Application Architect to join our team

Position scope

We’re on the lookout for a talented, creative-minded individual with a real passion for web application architecture and technical product management. A great work ethic and passion to own and deliver a fantastic product are a must for this role.

You will have applications architecture experience and be able to take over the technical product roadmap for an existing enterprise web application based on ColdFusion and MySQL. You will be responsible for all technical direction of the product going forward and ensuring the platform is maintained at its present state of maturity while being grown and developed into the future.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal are essential for this role.

You must have a high level of understanding of emerging web technologies with a demonstrated ability to solve technical challenges for varying project requirements. The ability to be self-directed and motivated and direct other technical team members in the management and prioritising of workload is paramount. You must be able to perform under pressure and consistently provide and create work of the highest standard.

• Can work well and provide technical direction for other team members and clients
• Can communicate effectively with a variety of people, including clients at all levels
• Able to own and manage the long term product roadmap for a ColdFusion/MySQL application
• Able to understand and manage application operations as and apply it to the application architecture
• Can display working knowledge in emerging interactive technologies and new products
• Is continually providing efficient, bug free and exceptional solutions and code
• Has an attention to detail and a focus on delivering quality
• Understands and can respect professional confidentiality

Key skills & experience

• Have at least 3 years industry experience in web application architecture and ownership;
• Have a clear understanding and advanced level knowledge of:
  • ColdFusion and other Web Server Technologies
  • MVC and ORM Frameworks
  • MySQL and other Database Technology
• Have a working knowledge of:
  • Web application operations and infrastructure systems
  • Dependency injection and Inversion of Control
  • Front end web technologies; jQuery, AJAX, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, XML
• Have experience leading and directing technical teams in delivering and continually improving web applications.
• Have previous experience working in product development within the web / Internet industry
• Have experience working with source control, team collaboration and project tracking systems
• Have exceptional customer service and communication (verbal and written) skills
• Have excellent organisational and prioritisation skills

Desirable

• Have relevant tertiary qualifications for the role (computer science or engineering)
• Have experience working with J2EE and Apache systems
