| Cost Cutting Survey Just read an interesting blog entry by Tim Sheedy of Forrester in Sydney. I have found Tim's research to be well worth reading in the past and on his blog I was interested to read the attached chart on how IT budgets are being cut.
The blog is here.
The report quoted is: Examining Changes In IT Spend In Asia Pacific
A Two-Speed IT Economy Is Emerging
by Tim Sheedy "From January to March 2009, Forrester surveyed 774 senior IT executives at enterprises with more than 500 employees in Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, India, China, Singapore, and Vietnam to determine their IT priorities for the year ahead. The typical IT budget will decrease — but averages do not tell the whole truth. In effect, a "two-speed" IT economy is emerging as some companies continue to invest rapidly in IT systems, while others make deep budget cuts. Either way, CIOs in Asia Pacific will be judged on their ability to help create or unlock value from their organizations in order to deliver this value to their customers." |
