In May 2008 I was head-hunted to be the principal change champion in a large health services organisation, and to work up the information/knowledge management requirements for a multi-million dollar e-Health initiative. Some of you will know that required me to put a uniform back on, which of course immediately placed restrictions on what I could and could not do. In the latter category it severely restricted my blogging activities and what I could publish. Two and half years later I am preparing to move on. Part of this preparation involves rebuilding my cyber presence, and I've begun this by updating and completing my
LinkedIn Profile .

I must say I was sceptical until in the last 48 hours I actually spoken to people who were approached for, and won their, job as a result of a LinkedIn presence - and I'm not talking little jobs. I'm talking very well paid six-figure jobs. And in the last 24 hours I’ve also had a job offer, which I declined because I have established a company called
HyperEdge Pty Ltd . I guess this proves LinkedIn works!
What I am sceptical about the number of links people accumulate, with some having many hundreds and others having thousands - surely Dunbar’s number applies!
