Ingres unveils CRM-integrated BI system

An Australian supplier of enterprise applications has announced that its latest business intelligence (BI) release is combatable with Salesforce's flagship product.

Ingres has unveiled its Icebreaker BI software, which it claims is the first program in the market that is integrated with the vendor's customer relationship management (CRM) application.

Specifically, Ingres disclosed that it had combined these two types of database software to improve its customers' access to sales data.

Deb Woods, vice president of product management for Ingres, explained that the release also allows clients to make cost savings.

She said: "The Ingres Icebreaker BI appliance brings together the best open source technologies with Salesforce CRM to provide business and sales insights at a remarkably low price point."

Last month, the software solutions provider Innovative Architects suggested that BI programs can help businesses survive the global financial crisis.
