New tool for human resources managers

A NEW web-based reporting tool will help managers improve workplace performance through easy access to HR information, Adelaide-based Empower Masterpay says.

Empower HR Intelligence, which was launched at the annual AHRI conference last week, allows managers to monitor and analyse HR business data in real-time.

The information, which can detail workforce composition by gender, age and skills, helps aligns operational plans with strategic goals, the company says.

"We wanted to apply the benefits of business intelligence to the workforce,'' Empower chief executive Alan Greig says.

"Managers can access the data remotely tracking the information relevant to them. It's about them doing their job of managing people smoothly,'' Mr Greig said.

Other information tracked by the tool includes attendance and absentee records and leave requests and long service entitlements.

The organisational visibility is backed by ``dashboard reports'' with charts and graphs relevant to the role of the manager accessing the information.

Empower's HR and payroll solutions are used by the Department of Further Education, Employment, Science and Technology, RM Williams, Drake Food Markets and ARTC in South Australia and to Newcrest Mining, the Australian Securities Exchange and Reuters nationally.
