About Oz Analytics

A couple of people have asked me why Oz Analytics? A simple enough question and it made me realise that I had just leapt into this blog without explaining why. So here it is. Oz Analytics is my way to capture thoughts and interesting snippets of information management knowledge. Although most of my experience has been gained outside of Australia - namely in Europe and North America. I'm currently living and working in Oz and while here I have created several enterprise data warehouses and analytic suites. Also, when I returned I was a little surprised by what I saw as the lack of a vibrant business intelligence/analytics community. Overseas I learnt to appreciate and use a professional community. If it didn't exist, I thought I'd create one: it's called the business intelligence CORTEX and it launched officially early this year. Several hundred local experts are already members and it's free to join. It's a great way to catch up with your peers, read about local news, views, events and maybe even get a job. I have also collected together the leading blogs from Australia and New Zealand (including Oz Analytics).
