Tuning/Technical Specialist(s)

You will be required to :
 Provide advice of a highly complex technical nature regarding the performance aspects for enterprise architecture design.
 Provide advice of a highly complex technical nature regarding the performance aspects of application design.
 Provide advice to senior IT and Business staff in the development of strategies for tuning applications and investigating application resource usage in LAN and mainframe environments.

Main requirements :
a) Detailed knowledge & experience within the following;
 Microsoft and IBM operating systems and structures,
 database architecture, particularly SQLServer
 DB2 and
 experience with application development and design.
b) Proven problem solving and analytical skills; being able to identify and resolve complex issues and communicate issues, options and/or solutions to others. A capacity to understand and convey technical concepts is required.
c) Demonstrated excellent communication and liaison skills and the ability to deal effectively with both technical and business staff, with a proven capacity to train, coach & mentor other staff in all aspects of performance tuning and testing.
d) Planning, time management and organisational skills directed to the achievement of outcomes, with the ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, work as part of a team of professionals and a willingness to contribute to a team effort.
e) Ability to acquire the knowledge of the government department guidelines and Business practices.
