Knowledge Based Economies and Networks of Knowledge Transfer

Joint Session at the 2nd ISA Forum of Sociology Conference

Buenos Aires, Argentina

August, 1 – 4, 2012

Objective:

This session invites researchers interested in determinants, mechanisms and impacts of social networks, economic policies, elites, social capital, and entrepreneurs in the field of knowledge. All perspectives and research methodologies are welcome: network analysis, multivariate statistics, fuzzy set qualitative comparative analysis, content analysis, cross-national, case studies, and so on.

Indicative themes will include (but are not limited to):


- Knowledge networks

- Knowledge-based economies

- Elites and universities

- Knowledge regimes

- Higher education and knowledge transfer

- Social networking, e-learning

- Orders of worth, logics of justification, sociology of worth

- Entrepreneurship and knowledge

- Human capital and social capital

 

Other related topics are also welcome to be suggested.

This is a Joint session between RC02 (Economy and Society) & RC23 (Sociology of Science and Technology) at the 2nd ISA Forum of Sociology.
